About Us: The Baking Coach®

My name is Lisa Basini. In October of 2005, I started a company called The Baking Coach, Inc. The idea came to me in a dream about four years ago.

Growing Up as a child:

As a small child my mother never had an interest in baking or cooking, but my Grandmother and Aunt did, I spent many days and sleepovers at their house learning this great talent and by the time I was 9 years old. I was able to make a cheesecake from scratch and family dinners almost every night. This passion for cooking and baking stayed with me for my whole life. Baking to me was more of an Art and a way to relax. When you are baking, it doesn't allow you to think of anything else except of what's right in front of you. Any worries or problems you may have are washed away for those few hours.

As an Adult:

I decided to attend culinary school, which was not an easy thing to do, since I worked full time and I'm married with two beautiful children.

After Culinary School I decided to open up the baking coach. My dream was if you didn't have the influence of a family member to teach you the art of baking and you didn't want to be a professional, how can you learn??? The birth of the Baking Coach, Inc.

Motto:

My motto is “the best place to learn how to bake and cook is right in your own kitchen”. I offer a program that teaches baking to adults and children in their own home. We also have special introductory to the kitchen programs for Newlyweds and Young Adults getting ready for College.

Mission:

Bringing families back to the dinner table and giving people a sense of home. We are so busy all the time that people are losing that a sense of home and family that is so important. It's like I always say, “Nothing spells love'n like a cheese cake in the oven!!!!”

Today:

We create Custom Cakes, plus we have a full line of healthy as well as naughty baked goods. We have a full line of creative cup cakes and cookies as well.

I continue to teaching baking and cooking privately, libraries, schools and other non-for profit organizations with the help of my staff.
